portable media devices - the Egg.
As the predecessor of the original
portable media player, this combined
thoughtful design with an economic strategy.
We replaced the internal hard drive
with a 3-1 memory card slot allowing the
user to customize their own media libraries
on a less costly storage medium that can
be hot-swapped and shared. This also
reduced component costs by 40%. We then designed
multiple products that utilize the same tooling and product
design in order to approach multiple channels and markets without paying expensive tooling charges.
